Why advice-only

Advice that answers to you alone.

Great advice comes down to one question: what's genuinely right for you? That only works when the person giving it has nothing riding on your answer. So we built Foundry that way — you pay us directly, we don't sell or manage a thing, and your plan is shaped by your life and nothing else.

The standard modelFoundry
How they're paid
A percentage of your assets, commissions on what you buy, and trailing fees on the funds you hold.
One flat fee, agreed up front. That's the whole relationship — nothing hidden behind it.
What they sell
In-house funds, insurance, structured products — each carrying an incentive you rarely get to see.
Nothing. We don't sell or manage investments. The advice is the product.
Whose interest wins
The more you invest with them, the more they earn — so the advice always seems to point one way.
We're paid the same whether you hold $0 or $9M, with us or anyone else. We've no reason not to tell you the truth.
When markets fall
Their fee shrinks with your portfolio — and, too often, so does their attention.
Our fee and our work don't move with the market. The hard years are exactly when planning earns its keep.
Who you actually see
Whoever's assigned this quarter, working a book of hundreds between product targets.
A planning team that learns your history once — and is still there when it matters.
Philosophy

The way we think about it.

Most wealth management in Canada was built around selling product — bank branches, opaque fees, binders that sit in drawers. Foundry is the opposite: a planning team whose whole job is to understand your life and tell you the truth about it. Good technology quietly handles the busywork in the background, so their hours go to you. The next thirty years of advice should look different.

01

We only answer to you.

You're the only one who pays us — no fund company, no product maker, no one else with a cheque in the game. So the advice has nothing pulling on it but your goals.

02

The plan comes first.

Net worth, tax, retirement, estate — mapped before any big decision. We don't manage your money; you keep your own accounts, and the plan drives every call.

03

Plain language. Real answers.

No jargon, no hand-waving. You'll leave every conversation knowing what to do next and why it matters — and a plan you could explain to a friend.

04

You won't outgrow us.

Your financial life will get more complex — corporate accounts, real estate, estate planning, cross-border. Foundry is built so the firm that knows your full history is still the right firm at every stage.
